From Hell: Avid Recut

I am a big fan of the 2001 movie From Hell starring Johnny Depp and Heather Graham. It is loosely based on a graphic novel about the Jack The Ripper murders in the Whitechapel district of East London in the late 1800's.

The film is masterfully directed by the Hughes Brothers who created a perfect atmosphere on the authentic move sets.

The only thing I found unsatisfying about From Hell was the ending. Perhaps it says something about me personally that I prefer a realistic ending opposed to a happy one, but I have always wanted to change it.

So, the Avid Recut ends on a much more somber note than the original theatrical release. This involved changing several scenes leading up to the conclusion of the film by removing a sub plot. I have also added a few closing comments just before the end credits about the events that happened in London during that time. Don't watch this version hoping for a feel good movie!
