An idea we've been toying with for a while now is to try and make Jupiter Ascending a more enjoyable film. The theatrical release had so much promise but under delivered, despite the good cast and impressive visual effects. The story was convoluted, more so than it needed to be, and it made it difficult to follow.
This project is experimenting with removing just a few elements to streamline the story and give it more focus. So far there has been some reshuffling of various scenes, particularly in the beginning. We want to give the movie more purpose by focusing it on Jupiter Jones, played by Mila Kunis, since that character is what the title of the movie refers to. Hence, Jupiter Ascending: Recut is aiming to be a story of her journey.
One major change is the complete removal of Titas. From what we have edited so far, there seems to be no reason why this character cannot be completely removed, simplify The House Of Abrasax, and make the story earier to follow.
We're not finished yet and continue to chip away at this one.
